One of the doctors came in earlier and said that if Lisa behaves herself, Dr. Meyers has given the go ahead to pull the last drain tube out in the morning!! This was the news that Lisa has been waiting to hear for the last four days and does not plan on getting a wild hair this evening:)
She is continuing to enjoy her solid foods even though she is on a low fat diet until the chest tube comes out. We thought it was funny that she is on a low fat diet. Who would have ever thought she would need that?
Aunt Nancy and I had our changing of the guard moment earlier. She has arrived safely back in Kentucky and did an excellent job taking care of Lisa! We can't thank her enough!
Please continue to pray that Lisa is past the last bump in her road to recovery. She is so ready to be out of the hospital. It's hard to believe Monday will mark one month since Lisa received her transplant. She still feels so blessed to have received this gift.

Here's hoping and praying that last stubborn tube will be removed tomorrow! I am sure being able to eat more foods and finally getting out of the hospital will be like a dream come true:)
ReplyDeleteLisa,so glad you are eating food again. I'm sure that even low fat food taste good. We all will be praying that the tube will come out so you can get out of the hospital.I'm aiming to get up after I recover from my gladbadder surgery. It will be a piece of cake compared to what you have been through. I plan on staying and helping you out for a week or so. Renee, I have tried looking up your number, but couldn't find it. Margie gave me your no. but I didn't get you. Hope all is well with you!! You all behave and thanks for the update.Love hearing from all everyday.
ReplyDeleteI think I smell a rat. Why is it that those doctors couldn't pull that tube while I was there but as soon as Renee gets back in town, lo and behold, now it's coming out? Sounds to me like Renee has been sweet talkin' some of those doctors. Oh, to be young and pretty again!
ReplyDeleteLisa, keeping our fingers and toes crossed and saying lots of prayers that the final tube comes out and you get sprung!!!
